Vice President Noli de Castro has announced a 3-month moratorium on loan payments to the Home Development Mutual Fund, better known as Pag-IBIG Fund, as additional relief assistance for members whose homes were damaged by Tropical Storm “Ondoy” (international codename: Ketsana).

De Castro, chair of the Pag- Fund Fund board of trustees, said a new home rehabilitation window would also be opened to affected Pag-IBIG members.

The moratorium started on Sept. 26, 2009 and ends on Dec. 31, 2009.

The moratorium and the home rehab program apply to affected Pag-IBIG members from Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B and V as well as the National Capital and the Cordillera Autonomous Regions.

To qualify for the moratorium, the member-borrower must be updated with his membership contributions at point of application as well as with his short-term and housing loan payments.

Applications for the loan moratorium may be filed with the Pag-IBIG branch where a member took out a loan within 30 days from Oct. 5, 2009.
